Hello Year 7

Welcome to our new Year 7 students who joined us this morning – nervous, excited and looking forward to the start of their journey at Southam College.

We cannot wait to see what amazing things you will all do!

A very warm welcome to Year 7

First assembly before heading to form rooms with their new tutors!

Welcome Year 7!

We are really looking forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students tomorrow morning. All students should arrive at the college for 8:45am and head straight to the main school hall, as they did on their two induction days. Your tutors and Mrs Erroi will be there to greet you.

The canteen will be available for students to use, but please also feel free to bring a packed lunch if you would prefer. We will biometric scan all students tomorrow and this will be deducted from parent pay accounts once these are activated later in the week, therefore there is no need to bring any cash into school.

You will need to bring your writing equipment and a reading book, however, you do not need your PE kits on Wednesday. We can’t wait to start your secondary education journey with you!

Message from Mrs Erroi

My name is Mrs. Erroi Head of Year 7. I am very excited to meet you and hear all about your holidays.

We will meet in the hall and all the staff are ready to greet you.

All you need is you pencil case, equipment and do not forget a water bottle.

You have nothing to worry about as all information needed will be shared with you on Wednesday.

I wish you every success at Southam College and know that you will be amazing.

I look forward in meeting you.

Mrs. Erroi

Year 6 induction

We are really excited to be welcoming our new Year 7 students next Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th July. Students should arrive at school for 9:30am and walk through the main school reception where we will be thrilled to welcome them. Parents can then collect students at 14:30pm from outside the main school reception area. These timings are the same for both days.

For the induction evening, we would ask that if you are within walking distance of the college and are happy to do so, that you would walk to the event to reduce the parking required during the evening.

Many thanks

Southam College

Welcome to Southam College Year 6

When you join us in September,  I am really looking forward to celebrating your successes with you and your Tutors.

A major part of my role is monitoring you closely, observing your progress and development. I will be there to support you along the way as you start at Southam College. Working with a large team of staff, I will be there to support any worries you may have as you move from primary school into Secondary.  I firmly believe that Southam College has a fantastic caring, supportive, and creative community. Teaching staff are approachable and friendly, they are great in creating an environment that allows everyone to achieve.

I have heard a great deal about you from your proud teachers in your primary schools and now I feel very keen to meet you and our new tutor team.

I am delighted to be your Head of Year. Together with your Tutors, I am looking forward to you being part of the best year group Southam College has ever had!

I am looking forward to helping make your journey from Primary School to Southam College enjoyable, fun and a memorable experience for you to arrive with excitement, energy, and motivation to be the best that you can be!

Thank you, Mrs. Erroi

Dance Production will be returning to the stage in December 2022, and we want to see “Everybody dance!”

We need your help to make it bigger and better than ever before. Get your choreography hats on and create a routine that is unique, polished and performed to the best of your ability ready for the auditions in October.

We’re looking for variety;  from solos to groups and styles from ballet to acro.

All ages are welcome to audition. GCSE PE students in year 9/10 who would be assessed in dance will be expected to enter a piece as this is a fantastic opportunity to be assessed and filmed on stage.

If any key stage 4 or 5 students are interested in supporting and choreographing a routine for younger students please email Mrs Turton directly  (warman.l@welearn365.com) or speak to Mrs Mellor.
