We need your help to make it bigger and better than ever before. Get your choreography hats on and create a routine that is unique, polished and performed to the best of your ability ready for the auditions in October.
We’re looking for variety; from solos to groups and styles from ballet to acro.
All ages are welcome to audition. GCSE PE students in year 9/10 who would be assessed in dance will be expected to enter a piece as this is a fantastic opportunity to be assessed and filmed on stage.
If any key stage 4 or 5 students are interested in supporting and choreographing a routine for younger students please email Mrs Turton directly (warman.l@welearn365.com) or speak to Mrs Mellor.
Students from Bilton, Kineton and Southam came together to celebrate 70 years of the Queen on the throne
Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust were pleased to host our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. It was fantastic to host students from both Bilton and Kineton High Schools. As part of our celebrations, students got to experience a union Jack stilt walker and a bubbleologist.
Thank you to all students who created Platinum Jubilee desserts as part of our Jubilee pudding competition. We had fantastic entries and it was wonderful to see all students’ efforts.
Moreover, thank you to Southam College’s music department for hosting the steel pan’s band.
Students created wonderful memories of a great historic and cultural event which they will keep with them for a lifetime!
Southam College and other schools within the MAT have recently been having a sort out and this week we were pleased to be able to send two pallets of text books covering a range of subjects to the charity BOOKS ABROAD in Aberdeen.
Here they will be sorted for onward transition to schools and colleges in Africa and India. Over 40 years the charity, run by volunteers, has recycled over 4 million books; it currently sends around 250,000 books abroad each year. Thanks to all who have helped with this collection from Southam College and at Bilton, Kineton and Stockton schools. A great outcome.
House Achievement Points are awarded to encourage our values of kindness, resilience and confidence. They are also used to reward student’ efforts and achievements including participation in House events.
House System At Southam College their are four houses, each with the same aim of winning the overall house competition each year. The winning house from each year group gets to go on a trip at the start of each new academic year so the more HAPs you earn the more chance your house has of winning!
House Points (HAPs) Throughout the year you can earn House Points for the following: Outstanding attitude to learning, outstanding home learning, 100% attendance, being prepared and fully equipped in tutor and many more!
Courtesy Tickets If you show kind and courteous behaviour towards another student, staff or visitors then you may be awarded a courtesy ticket these are each worth 10 HAPs and will go towards your house total!
The house system is an important and exciting part of school life and students thrive in this competitive environment. May the best house win!
You will have different teachers for each subject so there will be lots of new people to get to know.
You will see your tutor twice a day during registration. You can ask your tutor if there is anything that you are not sure of or are worried about.
Your Head of Year works with your tutors to make sure that you are able to achieve your true potential in every area of college life. You can find them if you have any problems or if there is some- thing you think they’d like to know. Heads of Year love to hear good news!
There are lots of other members of staff in school that may not be your teachers, however they will be happy to help if you need it.
ALL MEMBERS OF STAFF AT THE COLLEGE SHOULD BE TREATED WITH THE SAME RESPECT AND GOOD MANNERS.
